KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28.5 mm, 17.02 g, 10 h), Kios, circa 288-281. Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated to left on throne, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand, and leaning her left elbow on her shield; behind her, transverse spear; bunch of grapes to left, [grain in exergue]. Unpublished, but cf. Thompson 184. A superb coin of splendid style, struck in high relief and elegantly toned. Obverse slightly off-centre, otherwise, good very fine.
