KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios, 323-317 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29.5 mm, 16.83 g, 2 h), struck under Seleukos I Nikator, as satrap, Babylon (II), circa 318/7-315. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ Zeus seated to left on a throne with ornamented back, holding eagle in his outstreched right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, monogram above grape cluster on stem; below throne, Z. Price P155 (as "Arados" w/o royal title). SC CAd43.13. Well-centered, elegant toning, dynamic rendering of Zeus on the reverse. Minor scuffs, otherwise, nearly very fine.
