THESSALY, Thessalian League. Second half 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 21 mm, 6.59 g, 8 h), struck under the magistrates Lysikles and Poly... Head of Zeus to right, wearing oak wreath; behind, [ΛΥΣΙΚΛΗΟΥ]. Rev. ΘΕΣΣΑ / ΛΩΝ Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear with her right hand and extending shield in her left; in inner left field, grape bunch; in inner right field, monogram of ΠΟΛΥ or ΠΟΛΙ. BCD Thessaly II 821 (same dies). An accomplished rendering of Zeus. Lightly toned. Flan crack, otherwise, good very fine.
