MOESIA INFERIOR. Dionysopolis. Gordian III, 238-244. Pentassarion (Bronze, 25.5 mm, 10.81 g, 1 h). AVT K [M] / ANTΩNIOC Γ[ΟΡΔΙΑΝΟC AVΓ] Confronted busts of Gordian III to right, laureate, draped, and cuirassed and Serapis to left, wearing kalathos and draped. Rev. ΔΙΟΝΥCO-ΠΟΛΕΙΤΩN Dionysos standing facing, head left, pouring wine from kantharos held in right hand to panther at his feet to left, and holding thyrsos in left hand; in right field, E. AMNG I/1 391. Varbanov 543. Green patina. Obverse slightly off-center, minor porosity and light deposits, otherwise, very fine.
