LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos (Silver, 21.5 mm, 7.89 g, 6 h), struck under the magistrates Dae... and Mach... Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of barley ears and triple pendant earring; below chin, [ΔΑΙ]. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley, with leaf to right; above leaf, plow to right; below leaf, ΜΑ[Χ]. HN III 1581. Johnston Class C, 1.60 (same dies). Attractive, clear and bright. A few marks, otherwise, good very fine.
