LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Nomos (Silver, 22.5 mm, 7.05 g, 1 h), from the "Θ" group. Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a griffin; behind, Θ. Rev. YEΛHTΩ[N] Lion walking to right; above, Φ; below, Θ. HN III 1287. SNG Copenhagen 1549. Williams 270 (O155/R211). Very attractive, clear, toned and with a noble head of Athena. Good very fine.
