SICILY. Himera. Circa 425-409 BC. Litra (Silver, 12.5 mm, 0.83 g, 1 h). Forepart of a human-headed creature to left, with beard, horn, wing and a lion's paw; all within circle of dots. Rev. ΙΜ-Ε-ΡΑ-ΙΟΝ Nude youth riding a prancing goat to left, holding whip in his right hand and goat's horn in his left. HGC 2, 451. SNG ANS 172-3. Toned. About very fine.
