KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.06 g, 12 h), struck under the regent Antipater, Amphipolis, circa 332-326 . Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated to left, holding eagle in right hand, sceptre in left; in left field, grain stalk. Price 39. Troxell Issue C3. Well-centered and lightly toned. Graffito on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
