KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.30 g, 12 h), struck under Lysimachos, Kolophon, circa 301-297 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; in field to left, lion forepart left above race torch; below throne, pentagram. Hersh, Additions -. Price 1840. Very rare type. Sharply struck with excellent details. Good very fine.
