KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. (Bronze, 19 mm, 5.58 g, 5 h), Sardes, lifetime issue, circa 334-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPO[Y] between bow in bowcase and club; below, EYΞ monogram. Price 2551. A clear and well-centered example with a glossy dark patina and a bold portrait; rarely seen so nice. Good very fine.
