KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.45 g, 11 h), uncertain mint in western Asia Minor, or perhaps a 'barbarous' imitation. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡ[ΟΥ] Zeus seated left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, monogram above ΠΑ. Cf. Price 2757. Very sharp, well-centered and of unusual style. Extremely fine.
