LYDIA. Tralleis. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 12.40 g, 1 h), struck under the magistrate Ptol(emaios), year 2 = 131-130 BC. Cista mystica with half-open lid from which a serpent issues to the left; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; above, ΠTOΛ; to left, B above TPAΛ; to right, Dionysos standing facing, holding long thyrsos with his right hand and mask of Silenos with the left. SNG Copenhagen 662-3 var (date). SNG von Aulock 3263. Scarce. Good very fine.
