Rare Galba as, rarer with the head on the obverse than the varieties with a draped bust. This type is minted upon Galba's arrival in Rome. It commemorates the return to the reign of Libertas (Liberty) after the end of Nero's oppressive reign, which ended in bloody eradication of the plot by Gaius Piso in AD 65. The choice of Libertas, holding the pileus, symbolizes a return to the ancient tradition of the Republic, which unfortunately did not survive the attack on Galba on January 15, 69 AD.

Rzadki as Galby, rzadszy z głową na awersie, niż odmiany z udrapowanym popiersiem. Ten typ zostaje wybity po przybyciu Galby do Rzymu. Upamiętnia powrót do panowania Libertas (Wolności) po zakończeniu uciskających rządów Nerona, które zakończyły się krwawo z wykorzenieniem spisku Gajusza Pizona w 65 roku. Wybór Libertas, trzymającej pileus symbolizuje powrót do starożytnej tradycji Republiki, która niestety nie przetrwała zamachu na Galbę 15 stycznia 69 roku.
