The alliance of the King of France with Swiss cantons was signed in 1516 by Francois I, renewed in 1602 by Henri IV and by Louis XIV in 1663, through the Treaty of Solothurn, where a ceremony was held around a banquet between the King and the Swiss ambassadors.
