Sinkiang. Kuang-hsü Sar (Tael) AH 1325 (1907) VF30 PCGS, Kashgar mint, KM-Y26, L&M-744, Kann-1120, WS-1221, Xinjiang Numismatics-402, Hsien-Chang-114-2. Variety with Hui calendar to right on obverse (reverse as holdered). A notoriously low-grade and poorly produced type that only becomes available above the VF level with great infrequency. Most often seen with a weak strike over the dragon as seen here, this piece nonetheless retains a superb degree of peripheral detail, as well as a comparatively soundly produced obverse (reverse as holdered); while displaying a minor die shift, the details otherwise remain clear with plentiful die polish observable throughout.
