Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) MS64 PCGS, Wuchang mint, KM-Y321, L&M-45, Kann-639, Chang-CH233, WS-0090, Wenchao-851 (rarity 1 star). Type without hat. Double-die obverse and reverse variety. An immense outlier of a series almost exclusively witnessed in lesser tiers of certification, the majority of examples in this auction alone residing in AU designations. The current representative stands atop the rest, both conditionally and aesthetically, bestowed a lofty MS64 and appropriately so, revealing few detracting marks to the discerning eye while imbued with a most attractive palette of vibrant tones. Amber, violet, and cerulean mottle an obverse demonstrating cascading silvery luster that sweeps the fields upon rotation.
