Kuang-hsü gold Fantasy 5 Dollars ND UNC Details (Filed Rims) PCGS, KM-X155, Kann-B92, WS-Unl., Wenchao-1197, SHI-Unl. A generally elusive gold Fantasy type, with this basic design being produced in a wide variety of sizes and compositions. Though admittedly a bit crudely engraved in the stylized longevity symbol shou on the reverse, the execution of the piece on the whole is rather enviable, with a very high level of artistry displayed in Kuang-hsü's portrait, from the gaze of his eyes to the stippling of his imperial robes. While a subtle filing along the rims is indeed visible, next to no corresponding disturbances are detectable over the surfaces. Certainly not a piece to be discounted by the Fantasy enthusiast, and even better struck than many numerically finer representatives. Interestingly, struck from the same dies as the Farouk specimen.
