British India. Victoria gold Mohur 1841.-(c) MS62 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM462.1, Prid-22, S&W-3.7. Type A obverse, Type I reverse. W.W. incuse on truncation, plain 4 (without serif). An immensely popular type that has skyrocketed in desirability around and above the choice level, with most suffering from extensive bagmarking and/or cleaning. Exceeded by a small cluster of MS63's and just three MS64's within the certified population, the coin at hand demonstrates a clear satin texture beneath only light marks, with full cartwheel luster visible over both sides.
