Rama IV gold 2-1/2 Baht (Pat Dueng) ND (1863) MS66 NGC, Bangkok mint, KM-Y13, LeMay-pg. 94, Plate XXI, 3, Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs-pg. 163, Plate F31. An appealing selection of the type, cleanly struck and lustrous, with a slight ghosting of the concentric circles of the elephant and chakra design visible upon the opposite face, a seemingly commonplace characteristic for this smaller gold issue. An important denomination of the Thai series, and highly collectible in this admirable state of preservation, just one MS67 currently recorded finer. For the sake of completeness, we would note the obverse die is slightly rotated clockwise.
