Rama IV gold 8 Baht (Tot) ND (1863) MS63+ NGC, Bangkok mint, KM-Y15, LeMay-pg. 94, Plate XXI, 1, Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs-pg. 163, Plate F31. Of virtually unmatched quality for this largest gold denomination minted in Thailand, superseded by a tiny cluster of three MS64's at NGC. Beaming with full cartwheel luster, the example admits minor annealing flaws to the centers, a feature shared with both the Norman Jacobs and Pikes Peak specimens we previously offered, though not observed on the Goodman example, which appears to have been minted from different dies. For the sake of completeness, we would note a small abrasion to the right of the royal crown, which is likely all that precludes a finer assigned grade.
