China
Qing Dynasty. Yunnan Sanchuo Jieding ("Three-Stamp Remittance") "Packsaddle" Sycee of 5 Taels ND (19th-20th Century) Certified AU58 by Gong Bo Grading, Opitz-pg. 328 var. (different assayer marks), cf. Cribb-LXVI.I.821 (heavier weight), Assay mark A1. 54x35mm. 173.0gm. Cast at Yuanchangli Bank, inspected by assayers Tong, She, and Duan. Each of the three main stamps reads: "Yuan Chang Li Ji Hui Hao Wen Yin" (Yuanchangli Bank, remittance bank fine silver), Assayer stamps read: "Gong Gu Tong She Duan Kan" (Inspected by public assayers Tong, She, and Duan). Incredibly pleasing and visually near mint, with a bright luster contained in each of the two stamps on the right and left of the ingot. Distinctive for its "fish-tail"-like outlines to the assayer stamps, we would note that this piece is at least as fine as the Opitz example we offered from the same bank in December 2019, which brought $3120.
