Kiangsu. Kuang-hsü brass Pattern 2 Cash CD 1906 MS63 PCGS, KM-Pn3 (prev. KM-Y8n), CCC-251, CL-KS.42, Duan-1706, Hsu (Copper)-33. A particularly elusive minor Pattern in higher grades, often showing a weakening of the central devices as one progresses into later dies states. This particular piece, while showing the beginnings of developing die cracks around 3, 6, and 9 o'clock on the reverse (obverse as holdered), nevertheless retains a full expression of detailing throughout, with strong concentric machining marks appearing around the cyclical date. Far finer than the Q. David Bowers example, which only certified as an UNC Details (Environmental Damage), and by all indications the superior of the Åke Lindén and Norman Jacobs specimens.
