Rare variant, beautiful specimen, well centered. About fdc.

Ptolemy II, son of Ptolemy I and Berenice I, received from his father a kingdom stable and well organized. Nevertheless, after a few years, he was engaged in many wars to defend and expand the Egypt. Regarding the monetary system, Ptolemy II Philadelphos didn't brought big changes until 260 BC so that it is often difficult to distinguish Ptolemy I's issues from those of his son. Around 260 BC, however, the sovereign adopted a sort of monetary reform, restructuring the Ptolemaic system trimetallic, coining new nominals and withdrawing others, for facilitating the circulation of coins and the trade.
