Occasional early annotations. Spine lightly rubbed; minor wear to binding; modern bookplate. Near fine. Rare: the first copies of either work we have handled. Georg Gottlieb Plato was the pseudonym of Georg Gottlieb Wild (1710-1777). Under his more classical name, he is best remembered today for his Regensburgisches MŸnz-Kabinet, first published in 1779 and reprinted into the 20th century. The present works are highly specialized and demonstrate the state of the science at the time. Dekesel P141 and P140, respectively (Dekesel erroneously calls for three plates in the Untersuchung, when the title page itself calls for one). Lipsius 316 (both).

Estimate: 300 USD
